Confirm your phone number

Add your mobile number on Your account and confirm it with a 6-digit code sent on WhatsApp; change or remove it there too.

Phone number is a card on Your account (/app/account#phone). You add your mobile number there and confirm it with a 6-digit code that OmniBrand sends you on WhatsApp. It belongs to your login, not to the workspace, and your team does not see it. The card appears only when OmniBrand offers phone confirmation; if you do not see it, there is nothing to do.

Before you start

  • The number must be a mobile number with WhatsApp on it. A landline is refused.
  • The code comes from OmniBrand's own WhatsApp number, as a message with the code and a button to copy it. There is no text message (SMS) option yet.
  • Nothing in OmniBrand waits for a confirmed phone today; confirming it now means you are ready when something does.

Add and confirm your number

  1. Open the account menu (your initials, top corner), then Your account, and scroll to Phone number. The banner Add and confirm your phone at the top of the app opens the same card with Add phone number.
  2. In Country, pick the country of the number. It starts on the country you are visiting from.
  3. In Mobile number, type the number as you dial it in that country (for example 050 123 4567), or with + and the country code (for example +966 50 123 4567). With a + the Country list is ignored.
  4. Click Send code. "Code sent on WhatsApp to [number]." The card now says "We sent a 6-digit code on WhatsApp to [number]. It works for 10 minutes."
  5. Open WhatsApp on that phone. The message says "[code] is your verification code." Tap the button in it to copy the code.
  6. Type or paste the code in 6-digit code. It is checked as soon as the sixth digit is in; you can also click Confirm.
  7. "Phone number confirmed." The card shows "[number] is confirmed." with Change number and Remove.

Did not get the code?

  • Resend code is greyed out for 30 seconds after each code and shows Resend in 0:30 counting down. Then click it for a new code; only the newest code works.
  • Check that WhatsApp is installed on that number and that the phone is online. Messages to a number without WhatsApp never arrive.
  • Typed the wrong number? Click Change number, type it again and click Send code.

Change or remove the number

  • Change number opens Country and Mobile number again. A new number replaces the old one and is not confirmed until you type the code sent to it; Cancel keeps the confirmed number.
  • Remove asks "Remove this phone number?" ("Your login will have no phone number. You can add one again at any time."). Click Remove to confirm: "Phone number removed."

The banner at the top of the app

Once your email address is confirmed, from the day after you sign up (or as soon as your organisation writes its first post), a grey banner Add and confirm your phone says "Add your mobile number and confirm it with a 6-digit code we send you on WhatsApp. It takes a minute." Add phone number opens the card; Not now hides the banner in this browser for a week. It goes away for good once the number is confirmed.

If something goes wrong

  • "That is not a mobile number we can use. Pick the country and type the number, or type it with + and the country code (for example +966 50 123 4567).": check the Country and the number. Landlines and premium numbers are refused.
  • "That code is not right. Check the newest WhatsApp message and try again. Tries left: [left].": each code allows 5 tries. After the fifth wrong one, "Too many wrong codes. Click Send code to get a new one."
  • "That code has expired, or a newer one was sent. Click Send code to get a new one.": a code works for 10 minutes, and asking for a new one ends the older one.
  • "A code was sent a moment ago. Wait until the button stops counting down, then try again.": wait for Resend in 0:30 to reach 0:00.
  • "Several codes were sent in the last hour. Use the newest WhatsApp message, or try again after [time].": at most 5 codes an hour go to one login and to one number, and 20 from one internet connection.
  • "WhatsApp did not accept the message. Check the number, or try again in a few minutes.": nothing was sent. If it keeps happening, contact support.
