AI providers: bring your own key

Settings, section AI providers (/app/settings#ai). Owners and admins only; other roles see "You do not have access to this". Keys belong to the whole account: a key saved here is used in every workspace.

Before you start

You need an API key from the provider's own website and credit or billing on that account. Each row has a Get a key link and a note on what the provider needs: - Anthropic (Claude): needs credit on the Anthropic account to generate. - OpenAI (GPT): needs an active billing balance/quota at OpenAI. - Google Gemini: enable the Generative Language API for the key's Google Cloud project. - xAI Grok: your xAI team needs credits (console.x.ai billing).

Step by step

1. In the form under the list, choose the provider in the first box.
2. Paste the key into API key.
3. Optionally type a model name into Model (optional); leave it empty to use the provider's default.
4. Click Save key. The button shows "Validating…" while OmniBrand asks the provider whether the key works.
5. On success the row shows ••••and the last four characters (and the model, if you gave one).
6. If the provider refuses, a red box explains why (for example "Invalid key - copy a fresh key from console.anthropic.com/settings/keys." or "Key valid but out of quota/credits"). Fix it and save again, or click Save anyway (skip validation): the key is stored with an unverified badge and a Verify now button you can press later.

Which key runs first

The Which key runs first card appears when your package includes generations on OmniBrand's own keys. - Use the included generations first, then my own keys: the package's generations are spent first. - Always use my own keys (never counted): your keys are used for everything and nothing is counted against the package.

The line above the choice says how many included generations are used this month and when they reset, or "This package includes no generations on OmniBrand's keys; your own keys are used for everything."

Fields and options

• Provider: Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (GPT), Google Gemini, xAI Grok. One key per provider; saving a new key for the same provider replaces the old one.
• API key: required. Stored encrypted and never shown again.
• Model (optional): the provider's model name.
• Remove: deletes the stored key for that provider.
• "platform default" next to Anthropic, and "no key" next to the others, mean you have not stored a key for that provider.

Good to know

• Your oldest key becomes the default provider.
• The provider bills you directly for what your own keys use; OmniBrand adds nothing on top.
