Sign up: creating your OmniBrand account

The three sign-up fields, the password checklist, and what happens right after you click Sign up.

You create an OmniBrand account on the sign-up page (/signup), reached from Create one on the log-in page or from any plan on the pricing page. It is one screen with three fields. The account is your organisation: its first workspace, and you as its Owner. No credit card is asked, nothing is charged, and a free account is ready the moment you sign up.

Before you start

  • Use a real company or personal mailbox. Temporary (disposable) addresses are refused.
  • To start on a paid plan, pick it on the pricing page first; the sign-up page then shows it. Otherwise you start free and can choose a package later under Settings, Plan & usage. The Enterprise plan is not bought by signing up: its Talk to us button on the pricing page opens our contact details on the company page.
  • Nothing about your company is asked here. Invoice details (registered name, country, and for a company its registration number) are asked only before a first payment; your brand name is asked in the setup wizard right after sign-up.

One click with Google, Facebook or Microsoft

  • Above the form, the buttons Continue with Google, Continue with Facebook and Continue with Microsoft create your account from your account at that provider in one step, with no password. Only the providers set up on your OmniBrand are shown; if none is, the form below is all there is.
  • Click one and choose the account in the window that opens. Your name and email come from that account, and your organisation is named "[First name]'s workspace" until you name your brand in the setup wizard (or on Settings, Company details). A plan chosen on the pricing page is kept.
  • The sentence under the buttons, "By continuing you agree to the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy.", is your consent. Everything after that is as with the form: a free account is active at once and opens on Accounts; a paid plan goes to the setup steps. To set a password for your email later, use Forgot your password? on the log-in page.

Step by step

  1. Open the sign-up page. Use the language selector (globe) at the top if you want the form in another language; the language you sign up in also becomes your app's and your emails' language.
  2. Fill in Your name, Email and Password. As you type the password, the checklist under it ticks each rule it meets: At least 10 characters, Not a common or predictable password, Not your name or email.
  3. Click Sign up. The line under the button says "By continuing you agree to the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy."; both links open in a new tab. There is no box to tick.

Fields and options

  • Your name (required): shown to your team and on your messages. Your organisation starts out named after it, "[First name]'s workspace", until you name your brand in the setup wizard. Type your name here, not your email address; the form refuses an address in this field.
  • Email (required): your log-in.
  • Password (required): at least 10 characters. It is also refused if it is too easy to guess: one of the most common passwords, the same character repeated, a straight run such as 1234567890 or abcdefghij, a row of the keyboard, or if it contains your own name or email. The checklist shows which rule is not met yet.

If you arrived with a paid plan chosen, a box at the top shows "{plan} plan" with its monthly price and a Change plan link, and the note "Nothing is charged now. Right after sign-up you add your invoice details and pay, which activates the account at once - or start free and upgrade later."

What happens next

  • You are signed in straight away. A free account is active at once, with no review, and you land on Accounts, where the setup wizard opens: connect an account, name your brand, generate a first post. See The Today page and first-time setup.
  • If you chose a paid plan, you are taken to the setup steps at /app/pending: account type, invoice details, package and payment. See First payment for a paid plan.
  • A welcome email arrives in the language you signed up in.
  • Your organisation gets a first workspace called "Default", with you as its Owner; the wizard's Brand step renames the organisation and this workspace to your brand. Rename or add workspaces on Workspaces.
  • OmniBrand makes your organisation identifier from the organisation's first name (lowercase letters, numbers and dashes, for example layla-s-workspace; a number is added if it is taken). You need it only in rare cases: logging in with Advanced: specify tenant slug, or confirming the deletion of the whole account. It does not change when you rename the brand.

If something goes wrong

  • "Temporary (disposable) email addresses cannot be used. Please use a permanent address." Use another email.
  • "An account with this email is already waiting for review. Log in to check on it." or "This email already has an OmniBrand account. Log in instead.": that email already has a login. Click Log in instead next to the message and log in with it; use Forgot your password? if you do not remember the password.
  • A red message under Password, such as "Use at least 10 characters.", "That password is one of the most common ones.", "That password is a row of the keyboard." or "That password contains your own name, email or company. Pick something else.": the password would be refused; pick something longer, or a few unrelated words. The checklist shows the rule that is not met.
  • Sign up does nothing: a required field is empty or the email is not valid; your browser marks the field. If the API refuses a field (the email, the password, or a name that is too long), that field is marked in red and "Please check this field: ..." names it.
  • "This email already has an OmniBrand account. Log in instead." after a Continue with ... button: that address already has a login. Click Log in instead next to the message and you are logged in with the same provider account, with nothing to type.
  • "That account has no email address we can use. Sign up with your email address instead.": the Facebook account has no confirmed email address; use the form.
  • "Your browser blocked the sign-in window. Allow pop-ups for this site and try again.": Continue with Microsoft opens a separate window; allow pop-ups for www.omnibrand.app and click it again.
