WhatsApp broadcast errors by code

Every WhatsApp error code a broadcast can show (131049, 131050, 131026, 131048, 132015, 131000, 80007 and the rest): what it means, what OmniBrand already did, and what you should do.

Open the broadcast on WhatsApp broadcasts (/app/whatsapp). A recipient's error (under What happened in Recipients), or the broadcast's Last error, starts with Meta's code, then what it means; Failures and holds by reason under the broadcast's Results counts each code with what to do, and Show these people lists who got it (Broadcast results). Find the code below.

Not failures

  • 131049 — Held by Meta. Meta limits how many marketing messages one person receives from all businesses, and held this one back. OmniBrand marks the recipient Held by Meta and counts it apart from failures. What to do: nothing now. Do not resend within 24 hours. To send it again later, press Retry… under Retry failed and held-back messages on the broadcast's Results: OmniBrand sends each held-back message no earlier than 24 hours after Meta held it back (Broadcast results).
  • 131050 — Stopped marketing. The person stopped marketing messages from your business inside WhatsApp. OmniBrand marks the recipient Stopped marketing, records the stop in their Consent history (Consent and opt-out) and keeps them out of your next marketing broadcasts. What to do: nothing; they can resume in WhatsApp or opt in again.
  • 130472 — Meta experiment. The person is in a Meta marketing experiment and was not sent the message. OmniBrand marks it Skipped. What to do: nothing.

Retried by OmniBrand

  • 130429 — Sending too fast. The number went over WhatsApp's speed. OmniBrand halves the number's speed for five minutes and the recipient shows Waiting with the next try. What to do: nothing.
  • 131056 — Too many messages to one person. OmniBrand waits 4, 16 and then 64 seconds and tries again; after three retries the recipient is Failed. What to do: nothing; avoid sending two broadcasts to the same people at the same moment.
  • 131057 — WhatsApp maintenance. Retried after 1, 2 and 4 minutes. What to do: nothing. 1, 2, 131000 and 131016 — A temporary problem at WhatsApp (an unknown or temporary error, or the service is briefly unavailable): retried on its own, up to three times, with longer waits each time; what to do: nothing. 4 and 80007 — Rate limit (too many calls for the app, or for the WhatsApp Business Account): the number is slowed down like for 130429 and the message is retried; what to do: nothing, but if 80007 keeps happening, lower the broadcast's Speed (A fixed number a minute).

The broadcast was paused

OmniBrand pauses the whole broadcast instead of failing everyone, puts the recipient back in the queue, and tells the broadcast's creator; for account problems every owner and admin gets a notification too. After fixing the cause, open the broadcast and press Resume.

  • 131048 — Spam rate limit. Too many recent messages from this number were blocked or reported. Wait at least a day, send to people who asked for your messages, and check the number's quality in Costs, limits and free windows.
  • 131031 — Account locked. Meta locked the WhatsApp Business Account, usually for a policy issue. Open WhatsApp Manager, read Meta's notice and request a review.
  • 131042 — No valid payment method on your WhatsApp Business account. Meta bills your WhatsApp Business Account directly and could not charge it: no payment method, or the card or credit line failed. The broadcast pauses and shows a red box with Open Meta Billing Hub. In Meta Business Suite → Billing & payments → WhatsApp Business accounts → your account, press Add payment method (or fix the card), then press Resume (Paying Meta for WhatsApp).
  • 133010 — Number not registered. The sending number is no longer registered on WhatsApp. Reconnect it on WhatsApp Business.
  • 132015 — Template paused and 132016 — Template disabled. Meta paused or disabled the template for low quality. After a pause Meta usually reactivates it after 3 or 6 hours; press Resume then, or send the people it failed for another template with Retry… on the broadcast's Results (Broadcast results). See What each template status means.
  • 132001 — Template not found. The template does not exist in this language on the number, or is no longer approved. Press Refresh from WhatsApp on the template list and check its status.

The recipient failed

  • 131026 — Undeliverable. The number is not on WhatsApp, runs an old app version, or has not accepted WhatsApp's latest terms. OmniBrand counts a strike; after a second strike on the same number it leaves that number out of later broadcasts. What to do: check the number with the contact, or remove it.
  • 132000, 132005, 132012, 132018 — The values did not fit the template (wrong number of values, text too long, wrong format, line breaks or long runs of spaces). OmniBrand checks values before sending and reports these to its engineers, because they mean a check missed something. What to do: check the contact fields the template uses; contact support if it repeats.
  • 131047 — Outside the 24-hour window. Only affects free-form messages, not templates; if you see it on a broadcast, contact support.
  • Access revoked → the whole broadcast Failed. Reconnect the number (Account health) and create the broadcast again.

Skipped without a code

  • Opted out — the person said STOP, or their marketing consent was withdrawn, before their message went out.
  • Frequency cap: ... — they already had the most marketing messages your Messaging rules allow.
  • ... has no value and no fallback — the contact has no value for a variable of the template and the template gives no fallback. Fill the field on the contact, or give the variable a fallback.
