A post failed to publish
Retrying means OmniBrand will try again by itself; Failed means it gave up. Read the reason, fix it, then retry or edit the post.
What the statuses mean
- Retrying: publishing hit a temporary problem and OmniBrand will try again by itself. Nothing to do yet.
- Failed: OmniBrand has stopped trying on that account. You need to act.
- Needs a fix: the post did not pass the account's checks (for example text too long or a media type the platform does not accept). Edit it.
- "Can be retried - ask an owner or admin" (instead of a Retry button): every failed post can be retried, but Retry is for Owners and Admins; ask one of them.
Where to see the reason
- Today (/app/today), card Needs a fix: "Posts that could not be published. Fix the cause, then retry." Each line shows the platform's reason, or "Publish failed".
- Records (/app/records): the post's line shows the error.
- If Failures & expiring tokens is on in your notifications (it is by default), you also get a notification and an email.
How to fix it
- Read the reason. If it is about the account (expired, revoked, permission), reconnect the account first: An account says Disconnected or Revoked.
- If the post itself was refused (caption, media, link), open it and edit it. Editing a Failed post moves it back to Draft, so it goes through approval and scheduling again with the fixed text.
- If the cause was temporary or is now fixed and the post is fine as it is, click Retry on it in Today, card Needs a fix, or on its row in Records. "Retrying" / "... post queued again." confirms it. Retry is available to owners and admins who can publish, for every failed post.
"I cannot edit this post"
A post that is scheduled, publishing or Retrying is locked. Editing it shows a message such as "This post is waiting to retry after a failed attempt on 1 channel, so it cannot be edited now. Wait until it has published or failed, then edit it." or "This post is scheduled on 1 channel. Unschedule it first (click it on the Calendar, then Unschedule), then edit it - editing sends it back to draft for a new approval." Wait for the automatic retry to finish (it then either publishes or becomes Failed, which you can edit), or unschedule it first. An Approved post is not locked: editing it sends it back to Draft for a new approval.
