Archive, block, spam and delete in the inbox
Tidy the inbox without losing anything: archive a finished thread, silence a contact as blocked or spam, and delete a conversation or a single message.
All of these start from More actions (⋯) in the thread header, except deleting.
Archive
- Open the conversation, press ⋯ and choose Archive. You see Conversation archived and it moves to the Archived folder.
- To bring it back, open it in Archived and choose Unarchive (or press Unarchive on the Archived banner above the reply box). You see Conversation restored.
An archived conversation returns to Active by itself when the contact writes again. Anyone who can open the conversation can archive it.
Block a contact or mark as spam
- Press ⋯ and choose Block contact or Mark as spam.
- Confirm. Block this contact? Future messages from this person are filed silently under Blocked and will not show in the active inbox. (the spam question is the same, with Spam).
- The contact's messages now go to the Blocked or Spam folder without a chime or notification. The thread shows the banner This contact is blocked or Marked as spam.
- To undo, open the conversation and choose Unblock or Not spam (menu or banner).
Blocking and spam apply to the contact, so every conversation with that person is affected. They need the inbox task Block and spam (Owner, Admin and Agent by default; an admin can add it to anyone else, or untick it, under Settings, Members, Edit access). It does not let anyone delete: a person with Block and spam but not Delete can block and unblock but sees no Delete conversation or Delete message. Members who were given Delete before Block and spam existed keep blocking as before. Blocking in OmniBrand does not block the person on the platform itself.
Delete a conversation
- Open Conversation details (ⓘ) and scroll to the bottom.
- Press Delete conversation (Removes the conversation and all its messages for everyone.).
- Confirm Delete this conversation and all its messages? This cannot be undone. You see Conversation deleted.
Delete one message
Hover over a message, open Message options and choose Delete message, then confirm. This removes it from OmniBrand only; it does not unsend it on the platform.
Both deletions need the inbox task Delete. They cannot be undone. Could not delete means the server refused.
