Media library

Upload, generate, edit and trim images and videos, make an ad video from pictures, write alt text; limits and what deleting does.

Media (/app/media), titled Media library, holds every image and video in the workspace: uploads, AI-generated pictures and videos, stock photos and edited copies. Attach them to posts from Create (Add from library) or from a variant (Attach media). The page needs the Create task.

Step by step: upload

  1. Press Upload.
  2. Choose an image or video file. It is uploaded and appears first in the grid.

Fields and options

  • Upload — one image, or one MP4, MOV or WebM video, at a time, up to 50 MB (the video formats the publishing platforms take; Create's Upload accepts the same). SVG files are refused.
  • ✨ Generate image — describe the image (Describe the image…), pick Image aspect (1:1, 16:9 or 9:16) and press Generate. Needs AI access; see What the AI features need.
  • 🎬 Create ad video — "Create ad video - pick 1-6 images below (tap thumbnails), add copy, choose an aspect." Click 1 to 6 images in the grid (they get a coloured frame), fill Headline (required, up to 80 characters) and Subtext (optional) (up to 140), choose Video aspect (1:1, 16:9 or 9:16), then press Render (N images). "Rendering… this usually takes under a minute." The video is added to the library.
  • or generate with AI (inside Create ad video) — describe the video (up to 1,000 characters) and press ✨ Generate ("Generating… this can take a minute."). Needs a provider that can make video.
  • Tile — click it to open the viewer. Delete under a tile removes the item at once. ✨ AI alt text writes a description for an image that has none; the start of the alt text is shown under the tile.
  • Viewer — arrows or ← → move between items, Esc closes. Details: File name, Type, Dimensions, Size, Duration (video), Added, Alt text. Buttons: Copy link ("Link copied. It expires in about 15 minutes."), Download, Edit image (images), Trim & thumbnail (videos), and delete with a confirmation ("Delete "(name)"? Posts already published keep their copy, but the library loses it.").
  • Edit image — Transform (Crop with Apply crop, Reset crop; Rotate left, Rotate right, Flip horizontally, Flip vertically; Width / Height with Lock aspect ratio and Resize, up to 6000 px per side), Adjust (Brightness, Contrast, Saturation, Reset adjustments), Text & logo (Add text with Content, Text size, Colour; Add logo / watermark from a PNG or JPEG with Opacity; drag, scale and rotate layers on the picture; Remove layer), Output (Format PNG or JPEG, Quality). Save as new asset saves a copy; "Saving always creates a new asset. The original is never overwritten, so published posts keep their media." Start over undoes all changes.
  • Trim & thumbnail — set In and Out (with Set in point at playhead / Set out point at playhead), Play selection, then Trim to a new asset (clip up to 60 seconds; the original is kept). Use this frame as the thumbnail sets the video's cover picture from the current frame.
  • Load more — shows older items.

If something goes wrong

  • "mimeType must be an image/* or video/* type" or "SVG uploads are not supported; use PNG, JPEG or WebP" — use an image or video file.
  • The file is over 50 MB — make it smaller before uploading.
  • "Storage limit reached (N GB). Delete media you no longer need." — your account's storage is full.
  • "Blob upload failed (status)" — the upload was interrupted; try again.
  • "The edited image is (size), over the (limit) limit. Switch to JPEG or reduce the output size."
  • "Shorten the selection to 60 seconds or less." when trimming.
  • A tile says "render failed" — open it to see the reason ("Rendering failed: …").

Good to know

  • Files are stored privately. Links the app shows or copies expire after about 15 minutes; copy a new one when needed.
  • AI Studio's Approve marks a picture as approved; the pickers in Create can then show Approved only.
  • Deleting from the library does not remove posts that were already published.
