Start from a template: ready-made posts and Gulf occasions
Ready-made posts in English and Arabic by business type and goal, how a template fills Create, the Upcoming occasions card on Today, the Gulf occasions calendar and the occasion labels on the Calendar.
Templates (/app/templates) is a library of ready-made posts for Gulf businesses, written in English and Arabic. Each template has the post text, suggested hashtags, an idea for an AI image and the channels it suits best. You pick one, it fills in Create for you, and you replace the parts in square brackets with your own details. The page needs the Create task (Owners, Admins and Editors have it by default); without it you see "You do not have access to this".
Where to find templates
- On Create (/app/create), press Start from a template at the start of the row of buttons above the main text box. The templates open in a panel at the side of the screen.
- On Today (/app/today), the Upcoming occasions card has Browse templates, which opens /app/templates.
- In AI Studio, the Use in post panel has the same Start from a template button.
Step by step
- Press Browse templates on Today, or Start from a template on Create.
- Narrow the list: type a word in Search templates (in English or Arabic, for example Ramadan or عرض), choose a Business type (for example Restaurant or café or Salon and beauty) and a Goal (for example Offer, Customer review or Hiring). Templates written for any business follow the ones for the business type you chose. The line above the list says how many templates match, for example "12 templates".
- Choose the language of the templates with English or Arabic above the list. Templates exist in these two languages only; when the app is in another language, the list starts in English and the line "Templates are written in English and Arabic." shows next to the count.
- Press Preview on a template to see its whole text, its Hashtags and its AI image idea, and the line "Replace the parts in [square brackets] with your own details before you publish." Best on shows the channels it suits.
- Press Use template.
- On Create, replace each part in square brackets, such as [your offer] or [date], with your own details. Then pick your accounts and send the post as usual (see Create).
What a template fills in
- The main text box: the template's text. [your business name] is replaced by the Brand name of your brand profile when one is set (see The brand profile); every other part stays in square brackets for you to fill in.
- Hashtags: the template's suggested hashtags.
- The description in Generate an image: the template's image idea, in English, because the image models follow English best. Press Generate image under Media: What should the picture show? is already filled in.
- Opened from Templates or Today, Create starts with these filled in. With Start from a template on Create, the template replaces the text and hashtags you had; the confirmation Template added has Undo, which puts them back.
Upcoming occasions on Today
- The Upcoming occasions card on Today lists up to three Gulf occasions in the next 45 days, each with its date, how many days are left (for example "In 12 days") and the countries that observe it ("All Gulf countries" when it is region-wide). It is shown to members with the Create task.
- Start preparing now means the occasion is close enough to start on its post (for example 30 days before Ramadan, 14 days before a national day); otherwise the card says Start preparing from and the date to start.
- Prepare a post opens Create on the occasion's first template, in Arabic when the app is in Arabic and in English otherwise, with Schedule for later set to 09:00 on the day of the occasion. Change Date & time if the post should go out earlier, for example for a sale.
- When an occasion has more than one template, the link Templates for (occasion) opens /app/templates with only those templates; Show all templates goes back to the full list.
- Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha and the Islamic New Year show Expected date, may shift by a day: their day is fixed only when the moon is sighted.
The Gulf occasions calendar
- At the bottom of /app/templates, Gulf occasions calendar lists every occasion of the next 12 months. See templates next to one shows that occasion's templates at the top of the page.
- The occasions: New Year's Day (1 January), Saudi Founding Day (22 February), Kuwait National Day (25 February) and Liberation Day (26 February), Mother's Day (21 March), the start of Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha, the Islamic New Year, back to school in Saudi Arabia (late August), Saudi National Day (23 September), Oman National Day (20 November), White Friday (the Friday after the fourth Thursday of November), UAE Commemoration Day (30 November), UAE National Day (2 December), Bahrain National Day (16 December) and Qatar National Day (18 December).
- The Prophet's birthday is not listed: it is not a public holiday in Saudi Arabia.
Occasions on the Calendar
- The calendar (/app/calendar) shows each occasion as a small label on its day. Clicking the label does the same as Prepare a post. On a phone, the occasions of the week or month are listed above the posts.
- The switch Show occasions above the calendar hides or shows the labels. Your choice is kept in this browser.
If something goes wrong
- "No templates match" — no template has every word you typed for that business type and goal. Try another word, or press Clear filters.
- [your business name] stays in square brackets — your brand profile has no Brand name yet. Add it on The brand profile, or type the name in the post.
- Start from a template is grey — the AI is still writing your text; wait until it has finished.
Good to know
- A template is a starting point: check prices, dates and offers before you publish. A post is published exactly as it reads, square brackets included.
- An expected date can move by a day once the moon is sighted: prepare the post for the expected day and check the official announcement nearer the time.
