Market Watch: competitor prices, the Board and the Prices tab

Market Watch reads competitor prices, offers and social posts from screenshots, compares them with your own prices, and turns each finding into a promo post draft for approval.

Market Watch (menu Measure, then Market Watch, at /app/market) watches the websites and public social pages you choose. A browser bot opens each page on a schedule, takes screenshots, and AI reads the prices, offers, posts and ads on them. Those readings are compared with your own prices, and each finding (a competitor cheaper than you, or a competitor campaign) becomes an opportunity you can turn into a post draft that goes to Approvals. Nothing is published without approval. The old Competitors page (/app/competitors) now opens Market Watch.

Every role except the inbox-only Agent can view Market Watch. Owner, Admin and Editor can add sources and tasks, run scans, analyse and draft. Deleting a source and saving the Settings tab are for Owner and Admin.

Before you start

  • Set it up first: add your own site and at least one competitor under Sources & tasks, give each a scan task, and fill in Your industry and What you sell on the Settings tab. See Setting up Market Watch.
  • To draft posts, choose Default accounts on the Settings tab.

The summary tiles

  • Scan tasks: how many scan tasks exist, and under it how many are enabled.
  • Last scan: when the most recent scan finished, its status and the exact time; No scan yet before the first one.
  • Undercuts: new, still valid opportunities where a competitor is cheaper than you by at least your Undercut alert % (Settings tab). Items where a competitor is cheaper.
  • New opportunities: new opportunities still valid; Open the board jumps to the Board.

Analyze now

The Analyze now button (top right; greyed out until at least one scan task exists) runs the analyst immediately: it takes the most recent reading of each item from each source within your Analysis window (hours) (Settings tab, 72 hours unless you change it; hover the button to see the current window), leaves out readings the AI was less than 60% sure of, compares competitors with your own site, and adds the new findings to the Board. A message says Analysis finished and how many opportunities were added. The analyst also runs by itself after every scan, so you rarely need this button. An opportunity already open on the Board is not created twice.

The Board tab

The Board lists opportunities, filtered by status: New, Drafted or Dismissed. Each card shows:

  • the title (for example which competitor undercuts you on which item and by how much) and vs [competitor];
  • Our price and Competitor price, with they are cheaper or we are cheaper;
  • Suggested promo: a suggested price, kept within your Min margin % and Max discount % rules; or Competitor campaign when there is a campaign but no price of yours to compare;
  • Valid until [date], after which the card shows Expired;
  • Angle: the marketing hook the post should use;
  • Evidence: the screenshots the prices were read from (click to enlarge);
  • the buttons Draft post and Dismiss.

Step by step: turn an opportunity into a post

  1. On the Board tab, filter New.
  2. Check the prices against the Evidence screenshots.
  3. Click Draft post. Studio writes the caption and hashtags in your Post language, in your brand voice, and creates an image.
  4. The message Draft sent to Approvals appears with Open Approvals. The card moves to Drafted and shows In Approvals.
  5. In Approvals an Admin reviews it. The draft's note lists the prices and ends with "Check the price before approving." Once approved, it is scheduled for the next day at your Draft time, on your Default accounts.

To drop a finding, click Dismiss; it moves to Dismissed and is kept for reference.

The Prices tab

Every reading taken, newest first, with the columns Item, Source, Provider, Price, Dates, Promo, Confidence, Observed and Evidence. Readings from social pages show whether they are an Offer, Post or Ad, with likes, comments, views or followers when visible, and No price in this post when there was none.

  • Category: one category or All categories.
  • Source: one source or All sources.
  • Item: a word, product or route, for example RUH MNL or iPhone 15; click Filter to apply.
  • Period: 24 h, 7 days or 30 days.
  • Group by item: groups the readings of the same item, with the number of readings, the Min price, Ours and Competitor.

If something goes wrong

  • Nothing to compare yet → no scan tasks yet; click Set up sources.
  • No new opportunities → the analyst found nothing new, your own site has no price for the items, or the readings are older than your Analysis window (hours); press Analyze now after the next scan, or widen the window on the Settings tab.
  • Could not draft the post with "Choose the accounts for Market Watch drafts under Market Watch > Settings first" → pick Default accounts on the Settings tab.
  • Could not draft the post with "None of the accounts chosen for Market Watch can publish this draft" → the chosen accounts cannot publish an image post (for example a messaging account); choose a social account.
  • Analysis failed → the AI provider refused or your monthly AI generations are used up.

Good to know

  • Reading screenshots, analysing and drafting each use AI generations from your plan when they run on OmniBrand's AI; on your own AI key they are not counted.
  • Old readings, runs and opportunities are removed automatically after a while; export or draft what you want to keep.
  • Market Watch reads public pages the way a visitor sees them. Some sites block bots; see Setting up Market Watch.
