Social media for salons and spas: a practical guide

Content that books appointments without showing faces, asking clients before you post their photos, and bookings and reminders by message.

Updated 2 min read

A salon or spa sells something people want to see before they book: the colour, the nails, the calm of the room. Instagram and TikTok show it, WhatsApp books it. The work is doing both every week without taking time away from clients.

Content that books appointments

  • Before and after: hair colour, nails, brows, only with the client's permission.
  • Short process videos: the blow-dry, the nail art, the treatment room being prepared.
  • Your team: who does what, their specialities and the languages they speak.
  • Prices and packages, with the date an offer ends.
  • Seasons: holidays, wedding season, Mother's Day and back to school.

Many clients prefer not to show their face, and in some salons that is the norm. Hands, hair from behind, products and the room itself make excellent posts. Templates has ready-made posts for the business type Salon and beauty in English and Arabic (Templates).

Client photos: ask first, and keep a record

A photo of a client is personal data under data-protection laws such as the GDPR, Brazil's LGPD or Saudi Arabia's PDPL. Ask before every use, say where it will appear, and keep the answer. A simple way in OmniBrand: add a custom contact field such as Photo permission, fill it in on the client's contact, and check it before you post (Custom contact fields).

Booking by message

Clients often message on Instagram or WhatsApp to ask "do you have a slot tomorrow?". The Salon & spa booking bot, an add-on that OmniBrand engineers set up for you, asks for the service, the specialist and the time, books it in the built-in calendar, and lets clients see or cancel their booking, in Arabic and English. Your team marks who came on the Bookings page (The Bookings page). The add-on is priced on request (Inbox bots).

Reminders and rebooking on WhatsApp

A reminder the client expects is a Utility template; from the inbox, an agent can send it to one client with Send a template, filled from their contact (Replying on each channel). A "we miss you, 20% off this week" message is marketing: send it only to clients who agreed to offers, as explained in the WhatsApp marketing consent guide.

Plan the month in one sitting

  1. Pick three or four post ideas from the list above for each week.
  2. Write them in Create (or start from a Salon and beauty template), with an Arabic and an English version where your clients need both.
  3. Schedule them with Best time, or put them in a weekly queue.
  4. Check the Upcoming occasions card on Today for the holidays coming up.
  5. At the end of the month, look at Analytics to see which posts brought comments and messages, and do more of those.
